#ConnectingHRAfrica

ConnectingHRAfrica team-margot-

I have a busy few months coming up and I wanted to ask for your support.

This year, I am supporting two very special charities and causes close to my heart: Retrak and Team Margot Foundation.
In September I’ll be travelling to Kampala in Uganda with the #ConnectingHRAfrica team to help street children have a chance at having a childhood. I’ll also be training and supporting local staff with my People and Learning and Development skills to aid them in positively impacting these children’s lives.

About Retrak –  Video

Retrak works to transform lives and provide positive futures for the world’s most vulnerable children who live, work and sleep on the streets. By participating in the first trip of its kind, called Connecting HR Africa, HR professionals from the UK will share their industry specific and personal skills to have a lasting positive impact on young lives as well as raising money to help Retrak reach even more homeless children. Through Connect HR Africa I will help street children have a chance of a childhood, share my knowledge and skills with local staff and have the opportunity to connect with other professionals in Uganda’s capital, Kampala. It’s a life changing opportunity.

The event is the brainchild of founder and director of Kingfisher Coaching, and Retrak Trustee, Ian Pettigrew. Ian said: “As a Trustee of Retrak, I’m privileged to have visited Ethiopia last year to see our work for myself and it was a humbling, life-changing, and inspiring experience. In my day job, I spend a lot of time networking with other HR professionals and I organise events like Connecting HR Manchester to bring HR people together. Lots of people have said they would love the opportunity to help Retrak in this way and it seems like a natural extension of some of the amazing networks of HR people that I’m part of. So, we are launching Connecting HR Africa!”

About Team Margot – Video

International Stem Cell and Bone Marrow Awareness Day 7th October 2016

Team Margot campaigns for more potential bone marrow/stem cell donors to join the register – especially people with a mixed genealogy. You can read Margot’s Story here. As a grant giving Foundation, they also support people & projects close to their hearts – more specifically charities & research related to bone marrow/stem cell transplants & those caring for child cancer patients. Everyone at Team Margot is a volunteer. Every penny raised for the Foundation goes to the wonderful people & causes they support.

Thank you for yours.

I need to raise £2000 for Retrak and anything above this will be raised for Team Margot. My target is £4000 so the monies will be split equally.

I am asking friends, family, followers and clients to sponsor me, I’ll be doing crazy fitness runs, fundraising days and auctions whilst sharing on all of my social media channels VERY often – Join me:

To incentivise all you generous corporate sponsors, your company logo is welcome to be displayed on the tops that I’ll be wearing in Uganda 😀

I’m not entirely wired up right, so my “out there” offer for anyone who smashes the donation barrier…. I will gladly have your logo tattooed about my person when I get back. Or, I’ll happily accept a donation smasher to NOT have your branding on me for the rest of my days. Your choice 😉

If you are able to donate any prizes that I can raffle off to raise more money, I will be forever thankful.

I would be so very grateful if you could share this on your social media channels, too, to raise as much awareness as possible.

To donate, safely and securely, with all funds going straight to the charities, please click the link below.
